今日はジミー・ロジャースで「ワインより甘い口づけ」です。

ピート・シーガー、リー・ヘイズ作曲です。ジミー・ロジャースの1957年のシングルで、ビルボードホット100で7位を記録しました。

元はレッドベリーが1937年に録音した「ドリミン・ダウン」という、牛が死んだ農家の歌です。

それをウィーバーズのピート・シーガーが発見し、リー・ヘイズが新たに歌詞を書き、シングルにしました。その際に、ピート・シーガーは「ジョエル・ニューマン」、リー・ヘイズは「ポール・キャンベル」と偽名を使っています。
