関東地方はご機嫌な陽気が続いていますが、アメリカ・オクラホマ州では天気が24時間の間に目まぐるしく変わったといいます。

オクラホマ州は4月6日から7日にかけて、雨→嵐→ひょう→雪と天気が目まぐるしく変わった上に、マグニチュード4.6の地震という異常気象のフルコースが起きました。

オクラホマ州のローカルテレビ「KFOR」の気象リポーター、ダミアン・ロデス氏は4月7日、「24時間の間に、雨、雷と嵐、ひょう、雪、そして地震が起きた。誰がオクラホマは退屈な都市だなんて言ったんだ」と泣き顔の絵文字をつけて、Facebookに投稿したものが話題になっています。

こんなに天気が変われば退屈もしないよね、と思います。笑

またダミアン氏は気象予報のリポートで、異常気象の数々を紹介した後、「いつも通りの4月に戻りました。もし今日の天気が好きじゃなかったら、(天気が急変する)明日まで待ちましょう」と冗談めかしてリポートしています。

なんとも気象予報士泣かせの天気のニュースでした。

今日はローラ・ニーロでセイヴ・ザ・カントリーです。

ローラ・ニーロ作曲です。1968年のシングルです。また、翌年のアルバム『ニューヨーク・テンダベリー』収録曲です。

ローラのバージョンはチャートインしませんでしたが、後にテルマ・ヒューストンやフィフス・ディメンジョンがカバーしてチャートインしました。

高校生の時に聴いたローラ・ニーロの曲です。ゴスペルやソウルを感じる曲だと思います。
