今日はジョニー・キャッシュで、ダディ・サング・ベースです。
ジョニー・キャッシュの盟友、カール・パーキンス作曲です。1968年のシングルで、カントリー・チャートで1位を記録しました。
この歌は「Will the circle be unbroken?」という歌の一節からヒントを得てカール・パーキンスが仕上げました。
この時両者は依存症になっていました。ジョニーはドラッグ、カールはアルコールの依存症になっていましたが、ジョニーが克服して、カールを助けました。
グレン・キャンベル、キティ・ウェルズ、スキーター・デイヴィス、そしてこの歌でバックコーラスを務めたステイトラー・ブラザーズがカバーしました。
