今日はザ・キンクスでエンド・オブ・ザ・デイです。

レイ・デイヴィス作曲です。1965年のシングルで、イギリスのチャートで8位を記録しました。また、同年発売のアルバム『ザ・キンク・コントラヴァーシー』収録曲です。

レイ・デイヴィスが曲作りで煮詰まっていた時期に、バンドのマネージャーの取り計らいで、「ラストダンスは私に」の作者の一人モート・シューマンをレイの家に連れてきました。「これからの作品に期待している」旨を伝えられたレイは創作意欲が湧き、今回の歌を作り上げた、という逸話があります。

俺たちは一日中楽しい事をしようぜ、という歌です。
