今日の洋楽

今日はロイ・オービソンで「ダンス」です。

ロイ・オービソン、ジョー・メルソン作曲です。1962年のアルバム『クライング』収録曲です。

ロイ・オービソンは元はエルヴィス・プレスリーやジェリー・リー・ルイスのいたサン・レコード出身のロカビリアンでした。そこからモニュメント・レコードに移籍して、「クライング」「オンリー・ザ・ロンリー」といったストリングスも入るバラードを歌うようになります。

今回紹介する「ダンス」は、ロカビリーの匂いはありつつもストリングスも入る、という両極端なスタイルの歌です。
