早速、洋楽和訳のコーナーです。

今日の洋楽

今日はザ・トレメローズでラウンド・アンド・ラウンドです。

G・ウェストン、J・フリーマントル、カーク・ダンカン作曲です。1967年のアルバム『ヒア・カムズ・ザ・トレメローズ』収録曲です。

このアルバムがCDでも出ていて、昔それを買いました。最初にブックレットでこの歌の作者を見たら「Berry」となっていました。

じゃあ、これはチャック・ベリーのカバーなんだ、と思いました。チャック・ベリーの歌で「Around and around」という歌があります。タイトルは微妙に違っていても、同じ歌なんだろう、と思っていました。

そしていざ聴いてみたら、全然同じではない事が分かりました。聴き始めて、「マジか…」と落ち込んだ事は、これを除いてありません。

その後に買った歌詞付きのトレメローズのCDに奇跡的にこの歌が収録されていました。アルバムだけの曲で、しかも誰のカバーでもない、トレメローズオリジナルの曲なのに、どういう経緯で収録されたんでしょう。
