ジェリー・リー・ルイス作曲です。1966年のアルバム『メンフィス・ビート』収録曲です。

大統領ジョン・F・ケネディの暗殺を嘆いた歌です。

リンカーンという大統領も居ましたが、ここではアメリカを代表する高級車のブランドの事です。

古くは小林旭の自動車ショー歌に「鐘が鳴るなりリンカンと」という部分で出てきます。
