早速、今日の洋楽和訳のコーナーです。

今日の洋楽

今日はザ・バンドでステージ・フライトです。

ロビー・ロバートソン作曲です。1970年のアルバム『ステージ・フライト』タイトル曲、そして翌1971年にシングルカットされました。

Frightは「恐怖、恐ろしさ」という意味です。ステージ・フライトは舞台で恐怖と緊張のあまり何も出来なくなったり、何も出来ないを通り越しておかしな事をし始める状態の事を指します。

この時期のザ・バンドがどうしてこの名前をつけたのかというのは、「グループの実力をもっと証明するべきだ」という考えの元につけられたといいます。
