今日はディオンヌ・ワーウィックで「サンノゼへの道」という歌です。

ハル・デヴィッド、バート・バカラック作曲です。1968年のアルバム『ヴァレー・オブ・ドールズ』収録曲です。また同年にシングルカットされ、全米10位を記録しました。

ディオンヌ・ワーウィックの代表曲です。スターの夢破れた主人公が、故郷サンノゼに戻ってゆっくりしよう、という歌です。

サンノゼはカリフォルニア州中部の都市で、半導体産業が盛んな所です。いわゆるシリコンバレーにあたりますね。
