早速、洋楽和訳のコーナーです。

今日の洋楽

今日はザ・アソシエイションでパンドラズ・ゴールデン・ヒービー・ジービーズです。

アソシエイションのメンバー、ジュールズ・アレキサンダー作曲です。

二枚目のアルバム『ルネッサンス』収録、1967年にもシングルカットされています。ポップチャートで35位を記録しており、大ヒットとは遠いですが、アソシエイションの中では、ジュールズ・アレキサンダーの東洋思想を大きく取り入れた曲です。

『ルネッサンス』自体、半数以上がジュールズ・アレキサンダー作ですし、ジュールズは十分シンガーソングライターとしての実力はあったんじゃないかと思います。前に紹介したデュビューク・ブルースの時でもいい声してましたし。
