5月6日までとの事です。私も色々な所に旅行などで出かけたりしますが、この期間は旅行を一切やめて、家で大人しくしています。

今日の洋楽

今日はザ・フーで「恋のマジック・アイ」です。

ピート・タウンゼンド作曲です。1967年のシングルで、アメリカ・ホット100で9位、イギリスで10位を記録しました。また同年発売のアルバム『セル・アウト』収録曲です。

邦題は「恋のマジック・アイ」となっていますが、歌の内容と全く噛み合っていません。

お前の企みなんか何でもお見通しだ、という歌です。

この歌は、ギターやドラムをオーバーダビングするというアレンジを入れている為、音楽番組で、口パク等で披露する事はあっても、ライヴで演奏される事はありませんでした。1989年のリユニオン・ツアーでようやくライヴで演奏されました。
