Jackson Browne - The pretender

こんばんは、古い音楽をお届けする音楽文章ラジオのお時間がやって参りました。進行は、まさか、な、名久井翔太です。どうぞよろしく。

このブログももう始まって5年と3ヶ月が経ちました。まさか、素人ブログでこんな事態が起きるとは思いませんでした。

それが↓の写真です。

素人ブログなんて、そんなに見られる回数なんて多くない、と最初の頃は思っていました。所が、ビリー・ジョエルやチャック・ベリーの記事などが200回、300回と沢山見られているのを度々、カスタマイズ?サイトで見ると、なんというか、いよいよ色んな人に見られている、という実感がしてきました。

そして、たった2年前に更新した記事があっという間に1000回も見られているんですよ。ビックリしました。

これからも、この音楽文章ラジオは、色々な洋楽和訳をどんどん紹介していきたいと思いますので、皆様、よろしくお願い致します。

今日の洋楽

今日はジャクソン・ブラウンでザ・プリテンダーです。

ジャクソン・ブラウン作曲です。1976年のアルバム『ザ・プリテンダー』収録曲です。また翌1977年にシングルカットされ、ホット100で5位、イギリスで26位を記録しました。

このアルバムの制作中に、1975年に結婚した妻フィリスが自殺するという悲劇がありました。それが原因で、という訳では無いですが、全体的に暗い歌が多いです。

特にアルバム最後を飾るこの歌は、「悲しい事があったけど、それでも自分を偽って働かなきゃいけない」という意味を持たせて歌われています。
