今日の洋楽

今日はエルトン・ジョンで「絞首台」です。

エルトン・ジョン、バーニー・トウピン作曲です。1969年のアルバム『エンプティ・スカイ』収録曲です。

今回も非常に難解な歌です。ボブ・ディランが歌ってるんじゃないか、と錯覚さえしてしまいます。何なんでしょう、「Buckshee hangman」とか「Three score a thousand times」とか。

絞首台での惨劇を歌った歌、でしょうか。
